We are looking forward to celebrating that mile stone with friends both old and new.  It is a really great day out for al l the family providing excellent value for money.\n\nAs far as we know\, t he show began in 1926 as a simple flower show and has grown from there.  There are no existing records for it as far back as that\, but we know tha t the Five Parishes Horticultural Society was affiliated to the Royal Hort icultural Society in 1939.  There was a gap of five years during the war when no show was held\, but it has run every year\, with six exceptions\, since then. The show has moved around within the 5 Parishes over the years \, including a 40-year stint on the Army Ranges at Fingringhoe.  We now h ave a new\, permanent home in Peldon and would love to see you there.\n\nM any things have changed since 1926 – insurance then cost 1/-\, now it co sts us about £1\,500. However\, what hasn’t changed are the values of t he show.  It has always been really important to us to keep the show as a traditional\, country show.  The show is run entirely by volunteers and is non-profit making.  All money raised on the day goes back into running the show the following year and we try to support as many charities as po ssible.\n\nThis year\, a full afternoon’s main ring entertainment includ es: M.A.D. BMX display\, K&\;H Falconry with their birds of prey\, The Romford Drum &\; Trumpet Corp\, Tendring Dog Agility and\, of course\, our own very popular Musical Bales for dogs and their owners.  There are many other attractions on the show ground including craft stalls\, a cater ing village\, the horticultural marquee\, East Anglian Kite Fliers\, etc.   Also on site are the Horse Show and Dog Show.\n\nAll information\, incl uding schedules\, prices and tickets is available at 5parishesshow.org.uk.
