SUMMARY:TASTE group exhibition
DESCRIPTION:TASTE brings together over 60 artists\, makers\, designers and
poets responding to the theme of food. Through a wide range of practices -
from ceramics and glass to textiles\, prints\, sculpture and poetry - the
exhibition explores the many ways food shapes our lives.\n\nThe works ref
lect on eating as both a simple daily act and a complex social ritual. The
y touch on pleasure and indulgence\, digestion and decay\, memory and nost
algia\, as well as the cultural and emotional layers that surround what an
d how we consume.\n\nAlongside the artworks\, the exhibition also features
a curated selection of tableware - from refined porcelain and plates made
with Birmingham clay to thoughtfully designed glasses that enhance the se
nsual experience of food.\n\nEach artwork is accompanied by a specially de
signed recipe card\, where artists share the “ingredients”\, “notes
” and “method” behind their work. Inspired by the language of cookin
g\, these cards reveal the materials\, influences and processes that shape
each piece\, inviting visitors to read the artworks as recipes for making
\, thinking and tasting\n\nTogether\, these works invite visitors to refle
ct on food not only as sustenance\, but as a source of connection\, ritual
and imagination.\n\nAccompanying Programme of Events and Workshops\nSHARE
