As Kings Heath Station welcomes passengers once again, join us for a family-friendly celebration of travel, movement and arrival inspired by the many ways people have reached Highbury Hall over the last 150 years.
Visitors are invited to make the short journey from Kings Heath Station to Highbury Hall by taking a horse-drawn carriage ride, walking, cycling, using mobility aids, or other forms of transport enjoying a programme of heritage activities along the way. Once at Highbury Hall you will discover historic bicycles, estate equipment, a model railway display from Bourneville Model Railway Club, and stories from the Chamberlain family. You can take part in guided walks and family activities, meet organisations promoting active travel, and explore how people, plants, ideas and objects have travelled to Highbury from around the world.
A special highlight will be live music performances from Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, at approximately 3.40pm, 4.20pm and 5.30pm, as part of their ‘Cycle the Score’ bicycle-powered concert tour. Guided tours of the hall will take place throughout the day.
The day will be split into three sessions: 11am – 1pm, 1pm – 3pm, and 3pm – 5pm. The last admission to Highbury Hall will be at 5pm. Sessions are available to book online via eventbrite, see link below.
Please note that bookings for carriage rides, guided cycle rides and tours need to be made separately. Booking will open in late August – those with session reservations will be notified when booking opens. Advance booking is recommended.
Admission to the hall and hall tours are free. Charges apply for carriage tours.
