This UK based group presents vibrant European Contemporary Jazz, played by a quartet of superb musicians. The leader and composer is tenor and soprano saxophonist Jon Lloyd. Jon has been part of the UK jazz and free music scene for several decades (Jon Lloyd Quartet with Paul Rogers, Mark Sanders, John Law groups featuring Phil Wachsmann, Marcio Mattos, Stan Adler, Paul Clarvis, Tom Farmer, Asaf Sirkis), and has now turned his attention to European contemporary jazz using classical and non-western music influences as well as jazz sources to write vibrant, melodic and emotionally direct new jazz compositions.
Jon says: “This group’s first album Earth Songs has had over 2.5 million streams worldwide since 2024, so we are bringing out a new album in September 2026 to celebrate Called “Anima”, it features me, John, Nick and Alex and presents 11 great new songs, all firmly placed in that cool ECM-style genre Officially released on September 25th, the CD will be available at tonight’s concert ”
