Nikki has been described as the “Heroine of British Jazz” and is Award winning jazz pianist and composer and was a founder member of the innovative Creative Jazz Orchestra, and current Artistic Director of the NDR Orchestra. In the 1990’s Mike Walker formed a band in Manchester with himself and Nikki, Steve & Dave. This quartet was their grounding in jazz writing and performing. That early grounding formed a special bond between them, creating a new and lasting sound. For this gig these old friends will reunite at the 1000 Trades as old friends perfuming their original tunes in that enigmatic style.
